Breakfast in the Royal Botanic Gardens

So your balloon flight over Melbourne is complete and the tummy rumbles, what better way to continue your morning than with a gourmet breakfast in the gorgeous surrounds of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. The Observatory Café provides the perfect ambient setting to sit back, relax and contemplate your adventurous morning.

During Melbourne’s warmer months we have the option to dine outside in the restaurant’s herb and vegetable garden or in the cosier confines of the café itself. A vast majority of the produce used in the café’s recipes are hand picked from the garden. Our breakfast menu includes a delicious selection of but not limited to: freshly baked muffins, Danish pastries, poached fruits, bircher muesli, eggs cooked any way with toast and sides of bacon, tomato, mushroom or spinach. Also there’s tea, coffee, hot chocolate or fresh juice and of course – champagne!

Your pilot Chris joins all passengers for breakfast and in keeping with an old ballooning tradition, toasts to your daring with a glass of champagne and presents everyone with a personalised flight certificate and flight path map. Chris makes himself available to all passengers during the flight however breakfast allows greater time for a chat about balloons and his past and future ballooning adventures.

We welcome family and friends to join us for the breakfast – be sure to let us know how many prior to the morning with $25.00 per, (not flying), person to be paid on the day of the flight.

The Observatory Café is situated on Birdwood Avenue in the Royal Botanic Gardens opposite the Shrine of Remembrance. It neighbours the old Observatory buildings and is located next to the Garden’s visitor centre and Ian Potter Foundation Children’s Garden.
